I am Dr. Marlene Shaw and I help you transform into your superpower your smiles so you can show up confidently to the world. With over 17 years transforming lives one smile at a time, I assist those who are in need of a dental makeover to regain confidence and to feel great about their appearance.
LONG BIO
Dr. Marlene is an award-winning cosmetic and aesthetic dentist that has more than 17 years of experience in the process of helping to transform lives. This has earned her the nickname of America’s SmileMaker as she thrives on helping many individuals who struggle with issues related to their smile, self esteem, lack of self confidence.
Dr. Marlene has created a very friendly and welcoming environment for her practices as she promotes oral and dental health with a gentle approach for her patients. She is a third generation dentist that has been immersed in this profession even before she decided to follow in the footsteps of her father and grandfather.
Her own struggles with thyroid disease for more than twenty years have helped her handle her career with a more thoughtful approach. This has been crucial in her journey, along with both her top-notch education and her accomplishments as an aesthetic dentist and researcher. She speaks several languages and her multilingual efforts have given access to over 22k dental patients in Washington DC and beyond.
Dr. Marlene obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the world renowned Howard University and is a past dental researcher in Dental Informatics at Columbia University. Her travels to several international conferences ensure that her practice is constantly updated. She continues to climb the ranks as an authority in her field with a published article in Dentistry Today, speaking engagements to graduating classes, mentorship to young people including future dentists, and while providing chairside dental care in her two Washington DC based dental practices.
Dr Marlene continues to make an impact in others’ lives by addressing the insufficient minority representation in healthcare especially dentistry; she is an advocate of women and girls with and without careers at all levels. With a long line of satisfied patients, Dr. Marlene has provided successful treatment options to athletes, diplomats, politicians, dignitaries and their families.
